Children and Student Ministries

In Children and Student Ministries we aim to partner with parents to make disciples of Jesus of all ages. We also desire to equip parents to fulfill their God-given responsibility to train their children in the “discipline and instruction of the Lord” - Ephesians 6:12.

We encourage parents to bring children of any age into the Sunday worship gathering from 10 – 11:15 am. The kids and students of Living Hope Church are a vital part of our church family, and we desire them to worship with us. To aid in their involvement, worship-specific activity sheets are available at the Hospitality cart in the lobby.

Early Childhood Discipling

In the Early Childhood Discipling class (0-4 years), children are taught from the Bible, discipled in worship, prayer, and Bible memory. They are taught from A Sure Foundation, a curriculum from Truth78 geared toward older toddlers and preschoolers that highlight His Praiseworthy Deeds (Volume 1) and allow children to Set their Hope in God (Volume 2). To resource parents and caregivers to disciple their children in the home each week, they are given a summary of what their child(ren) learned. Please arrive at 9:45 am so you and your child(ren) can get situated before the service begins. A greeter and/or lobby signage will help direct you toward the children’s classroom.

Kids’ Discipling

We desire to partner with parents to disciple the hearts and minds of our preschool (4-5 year old) and elementary-age students (K-5th grade) at Living Hope. Our leaders will disciple students in the Bible, through prayer, a time of worship, and in Bible memory and then resource parents each week with tools to engage on each lesson.

Our preschool-age students are currently being discipled in the Old Testament using He Established a Testimony. This curriculum introduces young children to the greatness of God in the Old Testament. Children are acquainted with a big picture of God and presented with a foundation of Bible doctrine. The 52 Old Testament story references are arranged chronologically, and repeated key themes build a foundation to know and love our unchanging God.

Our Lower Elementary Class is studying Jesus, What a Savior, a curriculum on the story of redemption throughout the Bible. This study is designed to present the Gospel, not with “us” at the center of the story, but with the greatness and worth of God at the center. The class will help children to see what we were created to do, the effects of sin in our hearts, and the absolute need for Christ to restore our hearts.

Our Upper Elementary Class will be studying In the Beginning…Jesus, a curriculum designed for children to understand the “big picture” of the Bible. It is intended to help children see that the focus of the Bible is the Person and work of Jesus Christ. Through this study we hope children will better comprehend the intentional flow of the Bible – the progressive revelation of God’s plan of redemption, and the eternal, sovereign nature of that plan. By beginning the study with Jesus and His death on the cross, we will emphasize the necessity of Jesus in fully understanding the Old Testament.

Meeting Time: 8:45 – 9:45 am

Young Women’s Discipling

As an integral part of Living Hope Church, we encourage our young women to joyfully treasure Christ, love one another, and make disciples of Jesus. The format of our group includes two main components as faith women teach younger women: Word and community. We want to know and love Jesus by taking the time to see Him in the Word of God. We engage in community with one another by sharing authentically, building trust, and simply having fun together.

Who: All young women of Living Hope Church (ages 15+) are welcome to join us as we seek Jesus together. Visitors are welcome!

Meeting Time: 9 – 9:55 am

Young Men’s Discipling

In Young Men’s Discipling, faithful men teach younger men what it looks like to read the Bible, pray, and worship God in all of life. Our passion is to grow these young men as those who treasure Christ and are growing in maturity as disciples of Jesus.

The Young Men are working through a series on the redemptive history of God from Genesis to Revelation to impart the rich vision of the gospel.

Who: All young men of Living Hope Church in Middle School and High School. Visitors are welcome!
